When you hear the word exercise, chances are your mind will mark it as a painful experience. Especially if you do it regularly.

You see, we humans are programmed to seek solace and avoid pain.[1] at any price.

So when you stress your body with exercise, you’ll quickly call it a painful experience, especially if you don’t make it a habit or set any major goals in your exercise regimen.

Fortunately, your mind can choose what gives you pleasure, and it all comes down to connecting your goal with purpose and positive emotions.

In most cases, people start exercising without knowing the emotional reason behind it.

“I want to lose weight and exercise.” Sure, but why do you want to lose weight?
